Christmas Cake
During Christmas, people bake a cake called Christmas Cake/ Plum Cake for Christmas. Christmas Cake is famous around the world. This year, me and my family are planning to make Christmas Cake on Christmas Eve and eat the cake on both Christmas and Christmas Eve. Christmas Cake is usually brown. If you want your cake to be brown, you make a sugar solution. You melt the sugar, and it becomes caramelized sugar which makes the cake brown.
Christmas Cake is made with dried fruits, and nuts. Christmas Cake doesn't need any icing, or else it will ruin the taste of the whole cake itself. Traditionally, nuts are soaked in rum, but we prefer orange juice instead. To make Christmas Cake, you first have to pour orange juice in a container. Then, you put dried fruits, and nuts in the juice. Our family is going to put almonds, cashews, walnuts, raisins, and cranberries as our ingredients. It is your choice on the what type of ingredients you put in your cake. Then, you give a few hours for your orange juice to soak in the ingredients
After it it is done getting soaked, you mix the ingredients with flour, oil, milk, sugar, and baking soda. Egg is optional. After that, you put in milk powder. Our family is doing cocoa powder, but it is your choice on which type of powder you want to put in you cake. Then you bake it in the oven for 45-50 minutes at 180'C/350'F. After that, you are ready to eat!
